imagineCALGARY Accepting Submissions for 2010 Awards
Once again, imagineCALGARY Partners are being given an opportunity to recognize those organizations in the community that are working to create a sustainable future for our city. The year 2010 will mark the third time the imagineCALGARY Awards have served to acknowledge Calgary’s leaders in sustainability.
“The imagineCALGARY Awards are really about recognizing those business and community groups that are committed to achieving the Vision of The imagineCALGARY Plan,” says Carolyn Bowen, Chair of the imagineCALGARY Steering Committee. “The Awards offer an important and welcome way of celebrating the many sustainability successes that are taking place all across our community.”
The imagineCALGARY Awards recognize contributions toward the long-term sustainability of Calgary with two awards:

The imagineCALGARY Partner in Action Award recognizes imagineCALGARY Partners demonstrating excellence, innovation, involvement and leadership in the adoption and activation of practices that support the long-term sustainability of the city of Calgary within the target scope of The imagineCALGARY Plan. |

The imagineCALGARY Leadership in Sustainability Award recognizes organizations or businesses that are not imagineCALGARY Partners but which demonstrate excellence, innovation, involvement and leadership in the adoption and incorporation of practices that support the long-term sustainability of the city of Calgary within the target scope of The imagineCALGARY Plan. |
Previous winners of the Partner in Action Award are REAP Business Association and Vibrant Communities Calgary. DIRTT (Doing It Right This Time) and Bullfrog Power were prior winners of the Leadership in Sustainability Awards.
In order to be eligible for an imagineCALGARY Award, nominees:

Must have conducted operations in the Calgary trade market, within a 10-kilometer radius of established city limits, for a minimum of three years prior to the date of nomination |

Must be Calgary-based or be a local branch of a provincial, national or international organization |
| • |
Must demonstrate sound financial standing (as shown through an annual financial statement and where possible an Annual Report) |
| • |
Nominees must operate within ethical and transparent reporting guidelines |
